“DATA4 is now at a major stage in its development. It was therefore essential to move away from our old silo approach to a cross-functional model. We have set up a simplified organisation in order to create the right conditions for our development”. These are the words of Olivier Micheli, President of DATA4 Group, who, following the announcement of a major fund-raising campaign and an investment plan of €650 million by 2024, intends to consolidate DATA4’s position as the leading native European data center player.
DATA4 provides its customers with state-of-the-art digital infrastructures and high-performance, secure and eco-responsible data hosting solutions. Ambitious investments over the next 5 years will enable the Group to derive ever-greater value by creating new market opportunities and strengthening its international leadership thanks to the quality of its services and the quality of its teams. In particular, DATA4 plans to build 23 new data centers to develop its current campuses and to strengthen its positioning in Germany, Central Europe and Scandinavia through an external growth strategy. By taking this new step in its development, DATA4 is fully positioned and committed to supporting its customers in their digital-transformation and value-creation challenges in an innovative and responsible manner.
These ambitions are supported by a new cross-functional internal organisation where each department can refocus on its core business and where local departments (France, Luxembourg, Italy and Spain) have greater autonomy.
An organisation composed of three main pillars to improve the Group’s operational and commercial efficiency
– A new “Strategy” department will provide management with strategic information on market trends and developments, support the development of new products and the digital transformation of the company;
– The “Business” strategy, which now includes the Technical, Finance and Commercial departments, will be 100% focused on the core business and execution of DATA4’s strategy;
– The Business Partners – Human Resources, Controlling and Marketing – will focus on supporting the Group’s operational organisation.
As part of this new organisation, the autonomy of the various countries in which the Group operates will be strengthened with an expanded scope of responsibility for local management teams and consolidated governance of each of the subsidiaries.
A restructured and strengthened management committee
The Management Committee is made up of an experienced team that, alongside Olivier Micheli, intends to successfully deploy the company’s ambitious strategic plan.
