Our sustainable development policy
Our commitment
The impact of the invisible
However imperceptible it may be to the naked eye, data is everywhere. It connects everything we do, nurtures our relationships and secures our transactions.
In the workplace as elsewhere, our lives are connected to the digital world, whether we are talking, working or travelling.
In a fraction of a second, one click and a whole world comes to life. Data4 involves innovative men and women, years of research, a region in action and commitments to contributing to the development of more responsible digital infrastructure.
As a manufacturer and operator of data centres, we are constantly innovating to offer solutions that are more respectful of the environment, while at the same time contributing to the dynamism of the regions we operate in. Like Quality and Adaptability, sustainable development is at the heart of our corporate strategy.
By placing the quest for a sustainable future at the heart of what we do, we are providing a digital campus model that is unique in Europe. Through our ambitious Data4Good programme, we are fully committed to transforming the data sector for the planet, for people and places, while ensuring that we are an inspiring leader in our field in terms of governance.
Reducing the environmental impact of human activity (greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, depletion of natural resources, biodiversity loss, etc.) is a major collective challenge. Aware of its responsibility, Data4 is fully involved in reducing its environmental impact and is committed to combating global warming.
Our approach
Our approach to sustainable development is comprehensive, covering the following four areas:
Our commitment to the United Nations Global Compact
Given our business sector and the 4 pillars on which our dedicated sustainability programme is based, and in keeping with the United Nations Global Compact, we are working on a daily basis to meet a number of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Implement a responsible purchasing approach with our suppliers and service providers
Because a commitment to the environment requires cooperation and the sharing of common frames of reference, Data4 is keen to participate in recognised international initiatives.
Data4’s “low-carbon” trajectory has been validated by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) to comply with the Paris Agreement which limits global warming to 1.5°C by 2050.
The company is also a signatory to the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact, which brings together European data centre operators and applies the guidelines of the Code of Conduct for Data Centres established by the European Union to improve the sector’s energy efficiency.
